Default Need Tire Help- Hankook/Kumho

For starters I picked up a set of 16" Konig R7's to replace my steelies on my GSR Sedan. I need to get new tires on them. The tire size now is 205/50/16 am I able to put any different size on the rims? and what brand would be best for the best 8 months or so of nice weather without breaking the bank. The 2 I have been looking into are Hankook Ventus V2 and Kumho Ecsta 4x. Any positive thoughts would be appreciated

Your car should dictate what tire size you should run, more so then the wheels you run.

205/50/16's are 2.67% oversized for your car.
205/45/16's are .77% undersized for your car.

You could run 205/45/16's without any real problems.

What would the ideal tire size be then? And could i run 205/45/16 on these rims. I guess I dont know what number on the tire size i can adjust i know the 205 is the width and 45 is the sidewall height but how far either way could i go?

From what i was told by a tire shop on my rims that are 16x7 I could run anything from a 205-225 and 45-55 but optimal is 205-45-16.
My next decision is to run Nitto Neo Gen, Hankook Ventus V2, or Falken ZE950's if anybody is running these and has input let me know

A safe range is 3% or less deviation from stock. 225/55/16's... are so far oversized, that I'd question anything that shop has to say. Ventus V2's are okay, but there are better options out there.

What's the goal here? Better overall grip? Lower profile tire? Best comfort?

While the ECSTA 4x and the Ventus V2 are pretty similar, I felt the V2 was just a little more comfortable on bad roads........
