Well, here is my situation. I have a 99 Integra, which I will be putting a set of 16X7's on, and I do a LOT of driving, about 1000 miles a week. That said, I am looking for a tire that is relatively high performance through corners (moderate track time) with a long treadwear life, and decent wet weather handling. Is there such a thing? I'm open to any suggestions.

no option of getting 2 sets of wheels? grip or life... pick one, they don't really go together.

the possibility exists. I was thinking of getting one set of Mugen MF8's and possibly a set of rota slips, in which case, I would have two sets of rims, one for track one for street, and of course, keep the OEM wheels for winter tires. That aside, if that's the case, what are the best in terms of treadware (longevity) and which are the best in terms of performance? I know that people speek highly of the Anziens in terms of performance, or the Yok 1000's. What is a good long lasting tire? Right now I'm running on a set of Falken Ziex, which I'm not too terribly fond of.

A couple of my friends have had good luck with Dunlop FM901's. Both cars have been aligned after lowering and the Dunlops are holding up well. Im looking into getting a set when i need new tires.

i have had some yokohama YK420's for over 20,000 miles and they still have lots of life left, they are not super expensive either

i'm not familiar with them, are they still made? are they seriously comparable to an azenis or es100?

the faulken 512's are good with treadwear and moderate grip. they are also good in the rain.

Do you have the Ziex 502 or the Ziez 512, the 512 was a redesign of the 502.

hmmm....gotta check that. They came with the car when I bought it, and haven't been happy with them at all. Not much grip, too unpredictable when they loose it, and no warning.

You should try Toyo Proxes 4. They're one of the stickest all season tires out there with a tread rating of 300. They're great on dry/wet pavement and decent in the snow. I got them at http://www.edgeracing.com for $68 a tire for my stock rims.

Speaking from experience( I drive about 500-700 a week), if you plan on moderate track time, you can right off your street tires. I would have 2 sets of tires, one for the track and one for the street. While you can have sticky tires last a long time with lots of highway driving, once you go to the track.......you cut down tread life. My Yokohama AVS ES100 lasted 12,000
miles with only one track day on them.

FOR SURE, I have them on my car, and all of my friends roll em. they aren't as good as thew Toyo T1-S(which is the best tire ever) but they last about twice as long. The Proxes 4's do not hydroplain, they hold corners VERY well in the dry AND the wet. These tires were in r&d for over 4 years to replace the Toyo FZ-4. The FZ-4 was a horrible tire, but the Proxes 4 absolutely RULES!!

no those have way more grip these are a long life tire. there a Americas tire CO/ discount tire exclusive. and sell for around 80 bucks a peace it think

i read somewhere that the ASX is good mix of life and performance. tirerack.com say that it has better grip than the 712, which would you buy?

Thank you all for the responses. I'm gonna probally go with the Toyo for more "spirited" driving, and probally another set of Ziex 512's for the daily grind.
