Before or after bags to solve wear?
Hello guys,
so right now i am on coil overs. I am pretty low, not scraping everywhere, but low enough.
My problem is the natural camber on the front. i have been told camber is not the problem with tire wear, but toe is the killer.
My question is this, as my rears have -3.5 and they last much longer then my fronts ( i am guessing due to the fact that as its FWD and the steering combined) my front end has stock camber. ( rear is after market for the adjustment) now i am planning on putting a bag kit onto my car in the next 6 months, and was told ill need camber arms for the front to achieve what i want to achieve. I was also told when i raise it to drive it will mellow it out a little. ( i am not trying to go mental with the camber, just enough to have it tucked when its parked) i have 8.0 wide wheels all around. The tires are not that stretched ( 205/40/r17) on front. Now i was told if i bought some after market caster arms and toe arms i may have better control on this. I know i cant do a "positive camber" but is this true? will the arms help? am i going to need these when i put the bags on anyway?
im just debating on weather or not to pick up a kit and install them or just ride out some cheap tires ( which i dont like doing, as tires are very important) until i can get the bags installed.
Thanks for help/opinions
Dan

Re: Before or after bags to solve wear?
Given the nature of your request, you're probably going to want the adjustable camber arms for your car (even though I have no idea what car you're referring to, it's a more then likely response). Caster adjustment shouldn't be an issue, as caster really won't be an adjustment you need to make for the effect you're trying to achieve. Caster adjustment is more for someone looking to improve their car's handling characteristics for a motorsport-related application. However, you may want rear toe adjustment arms and possibly aftermarket tie rod ends up front to handle increased toe adjustment when airing out.

thanks for reply
i drive a 1999 honda accord 4 door coupe
I have camber arms on the rear, but not the front. MY rears last WAY longer though, even with having the camber. The front is stock minus the coilovers. I was told it was wearing due to "natural camber" from the drop. So is there anyway of eliminating that?
thanks

Re: Before or after bags to solve wear?
Do you have a set ride height with your bags? Because you'll need to get an alignment at whatever height you are planning on driving at.
Rereading your post, I see this is a future mod.
EIther way you are going to need the arms for a proper alignment unless you're planning on riding at near stock height.
