Appropriate Rim Size for 02 Civic Ex
I was thinking 18's in the back and 17's in front. Would that look alright?

The largest rim possible to fit on a 01-05 is a 20', even 18's are pushing it though.
I personally have 17's and I wouldn't want to go larger, especially if your lowered.

Get four wheels that are the same size. That will let you rotate the tires. And there are NO advantages to different-diameter wheels on your car.
You can get 17" wheels with 215/45-17 tires, or 18" wheels with 215/40-18 tires. You'll have a whole lot more choices of good tires in 215/45-17 than in 215/40-18. And the 18" rims will be a lot more susceptible to damage from potholes. So those are two reasons why 17" are better. Looks are a matter of personal taste, but I think 17" looks better too.
