I know it's an old thread but I have 2 questions.

Did you guys paint inside the wheel?

Also I'm using body filler on some curb rashes that I have. If I apply the aircraft paint stripper, then body filler, and wait overnight for it too dry will the wheel begin to rust? According to the can of rustoleum aircraft stripper it may.

Those look nice. What color is that? BTW how are you gonna spray the inside, by that I mean what spray pattern are you gonna use?

heres mine, the wheel was beat when i got it.
-stripped and sandblasted
-polished the lip
-one coat of Dupli-Color self-etching primer
-3 coats Dupli-Color Universal gold engine paint
-3 coast of dupli-color wheel clear coat

turns out just the color I wanted, almost bronze.

thanks its custom, called metallic antique brass.

and how i will is turn the wheel upright sitting. and paint down that way you cover the most surface and just roll the wheels as you go to get around the entire inside. if you lay it flat most likely you cant see how the coat is applying and how even your applying it. plus the angle just isnt practical.

here they are on the car

any more questions just ask!

yeah you can just make sure that you cover them really well, i used index cards where the lip of the rim meets the tire, then i used painters tape to cover the rest of the wheel so i would'nt get any paint at all on the tire

i did mine with the tires off. its alot easier to work with in my opinion, so if you can take them off, id suggest you do.

Must I use the "duplicolor wheel paint and clearcoat" or can I just use standard krylon and rustolium paint? What, if anything, makes duplicolor wheel paint more beneficial?

people "claim" that the duplicolor one is better but i used rustoleum primer/paint/clear and my wheels were still holding up a year and a half after i had painted them (sold them so i dont actually know how they held up after that)

i used a whole can on each rim and a whole can of clear. but i painted the inside of the wheel not just the front. 2 cans should work if u just want to do the front
