205/55/16 215/55/16 fit on integra?
whats the biggest size tire that can fit for each size of the wheel?
15,16,17"
i had 205/45/16 looks pretty small.
205/40/17 looks like *** and still lots of clearance and hated driving on those.
195/55/15 on stock acura wheels
215/45/17 on my current rota subzeros that are rubbing just a bit on the back wheels.
and just bought a set of 16s with 205/50/16 wheels that are bold and need replacing.
i ve been looking on craigslist and theres plenty of 205/55/16 and 215/55/16 but no 50/16 size.
i would go with 205/50/16 if i could find any good ones but there arent besides new and its a bit expensive.
will 205/55/16 be same outside diameter as 215/45/17? the rotas are also 7.5 wide and 16s are only 7 wide.
i have about 3/4 of inch clearance with rotas currently. and i belive the car is lowered an inch or so.

try 195/50-16
but proper tire size for your car is 215/45-16 or 205/45-16 for 17" its 205/40-17 or 195/45-17
you can run any size on your car just as long as it doesnt rub but be aware your rpm's will be off.
google search tire calculator and start mismatching different sizes. if the gap is your issue then i guess only answer would be to lower your car some to eliminate the fender gap.

i was mistaken about my wheels they are actually 215/40/17 not 45.
i have about 2 fingers clearance on front and back.
and it looks like 205-55-16 would be 14mm taller than current tires so its gonna be almost on the wheel well cover.
damn, is hard to find the 205 50 for sale lol and i dont want to shrink the width either. i like the 215 wheels i got on now, im much more comfortable driving on those than i did on stock 15s with 195 tire.
would 215/45 or 215 50 work ok with a 7in wide wheel.
whats the rule there for wheel /tire width? how far can i go?

The first rule is to get tires whose outer diameter is the same as the stock tire. That reduces the chances of rubbing and maintains the accuracy of your speedometer and odometer. For an Integra with 16" wheels, that means 205/45-16 or 215/45-16; with 17" wheels, 205/40-17 or 195/45-17.
The second rule is, keep the wheel width within the approved range for the tire size and make/model. You can find the approved range by looking up specs on the websites of the tire manufacturer or dealers like the Tire Rack. As a general rule for Integras, stick with 16x7 or 17x7.
