2003 Civic EX Wheel Covers Japan vs USA/CAN
I have a 2005 Civic VP that came with 14" wheels.
I'm considering changing it to 15" wheels (these were available on 2005 LX and 2003 LX/EX among others).
I'd like wheel covers that look very like the existing 14" covers and the most likely suspect looks like the cover for a 2003 EX Sedan.
This car has the same wheel for USA/CAN/JAPAN built but list 2 different wheel covers:
44733-S5A-J30 TRIM, WHEEL (15") JPN
44733-S5D-A30 TRIM, WHEEL (15") USA, CAN
The two part numbers share the same number and illustration on the parts graphic.
Googling either part number seems to produce the same pictures.
Does anyone know what the difference in these covers is? The JPN is over twice as much but if it looks more like the existing cover I'd pay it. If it is simply an identical cover from a different supplier, I'd save the money.
Additionally, the 15x6 steel wheel for a 2003 EX is:
42700-S5D-A11
and the 15x6 steel wheel for a 2005 LX is:
42700-S5D-A21
Does anyone know the difference in these two?
I'm not considering USED or Reman wheels because I simply don't want to deal with any cosmetic or out of round issues.
I would also like it to look stock, so alloys (aftermarket or otherwise) are not under consideration.

The only difference between the two part numbers you have listed for the steel wheels, is the generation of the wheel you're purchasing. They're the same part, though.
To be honest, you can purchase factory alloys from plenty of sites out there. Just take a look at www.handaaccessories.com

Can you elaborate on the "generation" of wheel? I guess I should probably pick the one that goes with the covers, but was concerned that there might be some subtle offset or center bore difference?

I never really did find an answer to this.
I did some informal parking lot surveys and it appears that the wheels and covers were not necessarily the same profile between years. Certain Hondas appear that the covers closely followed the wheel profile.
So I ended up getting a set of 2005 LX wheels/covers.
