Default 185/65/15 vs 195/60/15 tires

I have the stock 15 rims on my 2003 ex. The stock tire size from the factory is 185/65/15 which I have and they are the factory firestones that suck. Even though the 195/60/15 is wider, would they fit the stock rims? Or would I have to get aftermarket rims that are slightly wider?

Your stock wheels are 15x6.5".

195/60/15's fit 15x5 to 15x7"wheels.

You could even run 205/60/15's, if you so desire.

I had a 2001 Civic EX Sedan, so I do recall the OEM Firestones (?). I think it was Firestone.

I honestly don't like the "bigger" than OEM tires look on OEM wheels. They look wrong.

If you don't like the performance of the OEM spec tires, there are 10 other tires that will be 10X better in OEM size.

Go to stores or websites like Discount Tires, read their reviews or ask them. You will be 10X happier than buying "bigger" tires that still suck.

Tires can be expensive. But over the life of 60K miles or more, they are well worth it..

P.S. Everyone has budget. I'm not saying to buy the most expensive tires. There are "cheap" tires that end up surprisingly good. My batting rate on that process is 50/50.

So what I do is find the best (performance) tire, and go 2 or 3 steps down in terms of price. This has "proven" be a good strategy, for me.

Im leaning more toward the 195/60/15 size they are maybe .2 or .3 inches smaller then the stock 185/65/15 so I hope it wont look too different (I dont want a bigger wherl gap then I already have). My brother has 195/50 or 55/15 on his em2 and it looks like he would need to drop his car 4 inches or more just for it to look flush with the fender! Lol

Im looking at these bf goodrich g force super sport or goodyear eagle sport on tirerack. They are both high performance all season tires which sounds like what I need since I dont want to swap tires for the winter but still performance over regular tires.

The 195/60-15 should look great on your car, and if you want some input on those choices- go with the Goodyear Eagle Sport A/S, it's better than that BFGoodrich Super Sport A/S.
