Where to put this stinkin, tiny Odyssey battery...
We wanted a nice out of the way location for the battery. Considering this battery is so small it does open up a plethora of options. The mount itself is made of bent 3/8 tubing for the upper and lower main supports which are welded to the chassis. There are two 3/16 tubes added as supports on the sides. On the front are 2 tabs welded onto the 3/8 tubing with 6mm nuts welded to the backside of them. The tie- down is then made from 1/4 inch tubing, bent into shape and tabs welded on. Then it was off to the oven for some silver vein powdercoat! The ground is nothing other than a chassis tab welded onto the tubing with a 3/8 nut welded on the back as well.
The main bettery power goes in to the cabin where the OEM fuse box is mounted. The motor also shares the same ground as the battery.

Looks great except that the rules require a min. of (2) 3/8" bolts for the hold down. Those 6mm bolts aren't going to cut it if the tech guy is paying attention.
And hopefully you have better luck with those batteries than i have. lol

x2. My 585 lasts about 6 months. But hey, there warrantied for a year at least.

True, I know about the 3/8 bolt rule but the tie-down is there just in case it even moves. No kill switch, cage; nothing for that matter to satisfy any kind of rules. This is just a "street car." lol

Seems like every car i've had them on has a dead battery more often than not. I've decided to stick with oem civic and oem miata batteries. The extra 10lb or so savings isn't worth it to me anymore. The stock civic battery fits in alot of places nice, and the miata battery is a little wider and a little shorter for the places the civic battery won't fit. Both are way more reliable than those small batteries like that.

My PC680 was world's better than the redtop that I had. The redtop never held a charge after being discharged, but the PC680 started on the first try in the middle of winter after sitting for 7 weeks.

Same here, I always thought it had something to due with cold winters we get over here.

This battery needs to be hot charged at 50 amps for a couple hours. You will never have any luck with a trickle charge or even 10amps.

we have had great luck with the pc680 and pc 680mj. i have customers who have been running them for long periods of time without issues.

We ran Dyna-batt's on our race boat and they lasted all season with no issues. They actually worked better than our usual Optima blue tops which suprised me. Im pretty sure the Dyna-Batts are just rebadged PC680's.

Its just generic 2awg welding cable that I crimp on the ends and put heat-shrink on.

My PC680 didn't even come close to starting my S2000 in winter (temps below 20 degrees F). Once I put the charger on, it would fire right up. Even with a fully charged PC680, if it didn't catch on the first crank, it would be too late. Above freezing, the PC680 seemed to have little trouble starting the car.

Might want to Add a Terminal Block or something in the Engine Bay? So you can Charge or Jump Start it if need be? Would be a bitch to remove the bumper or the plastic under it just to do so.
