Default welding elbow to turbo compressor outlet

Hi guys,

I'm aboutto install my tubo kit in my car. One thing I was wondering though is how Revhard welded a 2" diameter 90 degree elbow to the outlet of the compressor. It looks like they cut of the part of the outlet which is raised up and welded this elbvow on. But I wanted to know what kind of material they used. I'm looking at it right now and it looks like really thick aluminum. What material are compressor covers usually made out of? I dont know if I'll ever learn how to weld aluminum since I'm just a beginner. So maybe a mild steel or SS elbow is what I would use. Can I weld up MS or SS right to the compressor outlet?

The reason I bring all this up is because in the future I might upgrade my setup and I might do a backdoor IC setup just like my current Revhard kit.

Thanks

all of the compressor covers I have seen are made of aluminum, so welding a mild or stainless elbow is out of the question.
