Default side molding

I would like to shave the side molding off my sedan to give it a better look to me since i bought the car with shaved door handles. Shaving the side molding shouldnt be to hard to me since I went to auto body in high school a couple years ago. Im not really sure if should weld shut the pins where the side molding was placed into the door. Just wondering if any of you have done it before.

Probably better to post in the paint & body forum, don't you think?

But, its not hard. If you took auto body classes, I'm not sure what you are asking about. Mig in the metal, smooth the welds and finish with a thin layer of filler.
