Default Good cheap Tig welder?

Any recommendations? I saw the other thread had Mig mostly...

Anyone got a suggestion on TIG?

Looking to build a spaceframe with probably 1/4" max thickness metals

Miller Econotig is a nice machine for the money. I picked mine up for 1000 canadian. It was a steal imo.

I had the first gen Econotig... either I sucked or it did. In hindsight it may have had a leak in the argon tubing somewhere because contaminated welds were a real problem.

Of course it could also be what my welding teacher said, "The more you practice the better your equipment gets."

my machine is a 60hz single or 3 phase machine. either or. I use it at my shop.

My econotig is the recient model. It works great. Its also modded with a seperate gas valve to work with water cooled torches or for back purging.
