Try Evolution Racewerks |, the last time I spoke to them they were still doing cages and they're closer to LA than Whitfield. Plus I had a bad experience with Whitfield around 8 years ago over a $5 part which has tarnished me from ever buying from them again. Long story short, when Luat aka L's Motorworks was still around we needed the gasket between the turbo and turbo manifold for my then Greddy turbo kit. Whitfield was a few blocks away so Luat called him for the part, said he had it in stock for $5. So Luat tells them that he's sending me right over. I get there and a girl helps me and rings me up for $12 plus tax. I told her that Luat just spoke with Jason we were quoted for $5. Her reply to me was, " You're not Luat, tell him to come for the part and I'll give it to him at that price. He had that conversation with Jason and not with me!" At the moment, Jason walks in from the garage so I tell him about the phone call and all and he confirms that the the deal was for $5. That's when the girl turns to me and says, " I don't care what conversation happened, it wasn't with me and so this is the price! If you want it for that price, tell Luat to come pick it up!" That's when Jason tucked his tail and went back to the garage while saying, " Sorry man, she's the boss. You know how it goes!" So infuriated, I bought and left as we needed the part anyway. I think that was the last time Luat dealt with them, saying the she has screwed other clients of his before too. I don't mind paying full price if need be, I understand supply-in-demand, but if you quote me something and confirm the story then I expect the right actions to be taken forth. Anyway, this was a long time ago and things may have changed as I hear good things now from Whitfield. It was just my first experience with them that went sour.

First post but I just saw this post as I was Googling for some information.
If you want a confrontational experience and to pay good money for a cage that gets race tech officials to send emails like this.
Jayy from 24 Hours of Lemons:
The upper bar location is absolutely ridiculous--any theoretical, on-paper justification that the weirdly inboard header bar will transfer loads more directly the weirdly inboard backstay is outweighed 20 times over by the real-world fact that the header bar is going to break your damn neck. And, of course, it just begs the question of why is the backstay weirdly inboard (except that it was easier for the fab guy to get to it there)?
In any case, not acceptable--the header (at least) has to be moved to a proper, more outboard, location. The backstay should also be moved to a proper, more outboard location, but that's not necessarily a deal breaker in tech. The header bar totally is.
Re the weld image, yeah, that ain't very comforting either. Poor penetration, nasty visible voids, and the grinding just confirms that it looked even more sketchy in its original form. Weird, because some of the other welds actually look super nice. Anyway, I wouldn't pass that weld--it's just too poorly executed. Does the fab guy maybe have a helper who executed that one?
Hope that's all clear, best &c J
Don't do it. Not trying to create waves, but I wished someone told me about their experiences before I found out.
