Thanks guys!

I am using a 110 outlet. Here is a pick of the 2016 control panel so you can see how everything is labeled.

And my current Best looking bead.
This was done at roughly 120A, AC balance around 30% and Hz around 120 I think. (been trying a lot of different settings.) I also messed up and bought 1/8th inch aluminum rod and am using 1/16th tungsten so I am sure that is not helping me at all.

Bastard! You got the faster pulse. That helps get the puddle forming

Ac balance at its lowest setting wont clean as much

Ac balance at 120 (or full left) will he max cleaning. Youll burn your electrodes
Faster frq will make a finer bead than slow freq

Use pulse for tack welds

There is no such thing as 120% balance.

And frequency is not faster or slower in measurement - the unit is Hertz and is a high/low reference.

I use it all the time

For tack welds set it fast

For adding filler slow it down and develop a rhythm

That are under $1k?

I've been pricing machines and it seems like the cheapest I could find (new) so far was a Lincoln that was 220v 1 phase stick+TIG (not inverter) for about $1,500. Foot pedal was another $500, so $2k to start.

Just wondering what you've found that is out in the industry that might also be good as a 'hobby' machine as well.

I think 98vtec had a thread about an Everlast? Or maybe even a whole thread related to this subject awhile back, I'm searching for that as well.
try "eastwood" tig welders they work fine

I'm in love with my AHP 200 on 110V! I would like to try some faster pulse than what my 2015 model allows though, so maybe I need to upgrade to a 2016 one of these days...

Not really.

I believe you're trying to explain the 1 amp per .001" rule.

And he forgot to mention that stainless needs ~⅔ the amps of the same thickness carbon steel.
