So I started finishing my wing supports and getting them all pretty. I will take photos of the completed parts later this week. But for now I started making something that won't be limited to my aero kit I am making. I'll see if anyone can guess what it is! Here's a quick pic of the soon to be plug fabrication. Very rudimentary but practical for the part I am envisioning in my head. Sometimes you have to think outside of the box and use what you have on hand! so...... Take a guess!

I've been following this project and it really has inspired me to try my own composite work. Carbon I've found to order by the yard is very expensive though. I'm talking like $140/yard for the cheap stuff. If it has to be structural it is around $300/yard.

Whoa!!! $140 a yard is about right for a high quality prepreg but $300 is very very very high. I try and look for cloth in the $25 shipped per yard price range. If I can snag an auction at $20 per yard I buy all of it.

Well race season snuck up on me tonight. threw this dirty bitch together. And when I say threw... I mean threw it. No shake down. No ***** given....

Blasted em tonight... Came in second. Unfortunately I hit the wall in the last race (disqualifies you) and I let off. Had 4 cars and got a little greedy and hit my right rear wheel. *** shot!!! Handled extremely well. Honestly is was a little loose. Gonna adjust the aero and tune the suspension a bit. Well enough.... Here are some pictures.

Here's the damage to the car... Hoping it's just and alignment and a flare. Car drives sideways a little now! Lol

love the videos, put them on youtube man. How old are those those tires? They prob need a lot more heat in them then you can put in with such short laps.

3laps at Daytona last year and this past Wednesday. They get to temp about the last three runs. As the pack gets eliminated the runs almost get back to back. So far I havent over heated these tires. Last year I didn't start getting them (other set of r6) blue to about July time frame because the track is so hot. I should be using a6-7 but these r6 work okay. The front splitter was gripping hard. The rear was wanting to rotate too much. I really need to finish the rear diffuser. It's funny, I over heard a bunch of people saying aero only works above certain speeds..... So wrong in so many ways.

So it's been a while. The car has really came around! It drives amazing! Only two more races for the season and it over. Had I not hit the wall first night I'd like to think I would have placed top 10 this season but 4 weeks in a row put me in the teens (hoping). Still it's one of the top 4 cars at the track and is simple put. The most economical, most underpowered, and best looking imho car on the track. I'm competitive with guys with years of seat time and 10s of thousands invested in their cars. I love driving to the track, racing and driving home in this bad boy with trophies and cash. It's been a good year and for those that have followed the progress. Thank you.

Above are some shots racerboydreams shot last week.

Battle tested.

The rewards of hard work and dedication are evident. You have accomplished a great deal and your fabricating skills are well, excellent.
I have enjoyed this threads progress and your cars success is icing on the cake.
Congrats!
