FS: 2002 Honda S2000 Blown Motor
Name: Matt
Location: West Palm Beach, FL
Price: $4000
Description: Looking to sell my 2002 s2k with 167k miles on it. This has been my daily Driver and I have had this car for pretty 160000 of the 167000 miles of it's life. Everything was running fine on it until a couple weeks ago I was on the way home and I turned and got on it a little bit (not even close to redline), but I immediately noticed a lag in performance....shortly after I started noticing a click coming from the car. By the time I got home the engine was making a terrible racket. The next day drove it to the closest automotive shop that I knew and was told that I had a blown engine and that the engine was discontinued and I would have to get one off the internet. I'm still not sure how its really blown because it was actually drivable and I had to drive it back from the Auto Shop later again. Whatever the case, I have decided that I need a bigger car (actually truck) so I am going to part ways with it. I am going out of town for a week, but I wanted to get this posted while I'm gone. I'm planning on trailering it around to a few different junk yards around here and to Carmax to see what they will give me for it when I get back and can get a hold of the trailer to do so. I really have no idea what it's worth in this condition, but I know there is at least that much in parts.
I figure someone may be more familar with the engine that would want to put in the time to fix it or part it out or someone may want to do an Engine swap on it.
The Good:
-Clean title, in hand.
-All records of everything ever performed on the car and usually at Braman Honda.
-Brand new convertible top just put on.
-New Clutch was just installed at 160079 Miles.
-Just had headlights restored.
The Bad:
- Blown Engine
- Paint is ok from far, but up close there are swirls from an idiot that detailed my car.
- couple small Dents/scratch on driver's side.
- Interior is worn from constant use.
Update #1: At this time I had the car trailered from West Palm Beach to Daytona to have my dad's mechanic friend take look to see if the engine is actually blown, because I still don't believe it is. I'm waiting to hear back on this and may update this post as necessary depending on the results.
Update # 2 - 11/28/14: Sorry for the delay in updating and missing so many of your messages. So I got the car back a couple weeks ago from the Mechanic in Daytona. The engine wasn't blown. The mechanic said he replaced 1 of the rod bearings and polished the crankshaft which he said had been deprived of oil which pretty much eliminated most of knock according, however when the car was brought back to me, I having driven the car for 10+ years still noticed a slight knocking and after about a week it started to get worse. Because of this I sent the car back to Daytona for now to have the other 3 rod bearings replaced and polished. I'm pretty confident that when I get the car back the engine will be in pristine condition. I will update with more information when I get it it, but it should be about 2-3 weeks before I get the car back. I have already got a new vehicle (Toyota Tundra), So I will still be selling it, but I will adjust the price since the Engine is fixed.

Re: FS: 2002 Honda S2000 Blown Motor
Trade for 2010 Ram 4x4?
72000 miles
3 inch rough country lift/level kit
35 inch mud terrain BFG KM2 tires
S&B cold air intake
magnaflow exhaust
has bushwacker fender flares now (not in photo)
going to be selling it for $22,000. I would trade it for your s2000 plus $15,000. I can deliver the truck and pick the s2000 up with a trailer.
txt (204) 230 1817 if you are interested please
(mud has since been removed from truck )
