Posting this for my aunt and uncle now in their upper 60s- always stylish and child-free. They purchased this car brand new in July 1992 from Mike Smith Honda in Beaumont, TX. My aunt commuted 180 miles/day throughout the 90s in this car. In short - it's their baby. It's always been hand washed. It's always been maintained by the manual. You can see by the quality of the paint and interior - it's been a source of enjoyment and pride, not "just a car." My aunt hand waxes it herself with Zaino. (She does her Audi and G35 6-speed also)
I've recently help them go through all the major systems and handle all the 4th gen issues. Over the years they've had the local Honda dealer and their mechanic do all the other heavy lifting including a recent timing belt and top end rebuild. I'm happy to walk anyone through all the details.
Here are some highlights on recent major items:
(4) Matched V-Rated Kuhmos
4 Wheel Alignment - 03/2014
Full Top end Rebuild and Timing Belt in <10k Miles
Complete A/C in 2013
Recent Clutch, Slave, Fluid just Flushed
Power Steering Just Flushed with OE Fluid
Recent Radiator
Gold Battery 03/2014
Full ABS Rebuild with Complete Fluid Flush 03/2014 ~ $2.5k @ Dealer
Rebuilt Power Antenna 03/2014
New Fuel/Temp Gauges 03/2014
New Exterior OE Honda Moldings 03/2014
New Wiper Blades - OE Honda 03/2014
Recent CV Shafts
New OE Spec Exhaust
Replacement OE rear Sway Bar (Out of Production)
New Front and Rear Brakes
Oil Pan Gasket Replaced
New Wiper Relay - 03/2014
Refreshed Window Tinting
New Sony Explode CD Player w/ MP3 Connection and Replacement Speakers
Thousands have been spent maintaining this rare example over the years and over $2k thousand have been spent in 2014 bringing this car to like new condition. Yes - the car has miles on the body, but basically everything except the shortblock and suspension has been replaced at one point. The cleanliness and condition of the interior speak for itself.
The only non-working item is the cruise control (dash switch illuminates, no dash light).
Don't miss the Original Window Sticker, PDI, Hang Tags and I have the original buyers agreement!

Still for sale - Over $2k in parts alone invested in March 2014. Car is basically restored - less original paint and interior which are incredible.
The car runs, drives, handles, steers, cruises, drives - rattle free. A testimonial of Honda quality and durability...

Re: '92 Prelude Si, One Adult Owner, Stock, Original Window Sticker, Books, Records,
Thanks for the replies - chuckling about the locations...
In all seriousness. These cars rust out nearly everywhere in the US. Not in TX and the SW - especially when garaged. This car spent it's life garaged at home at mostly at work.
I'm not sure if these cars will every be classics, but for ~$6k drive out - no rust, good starter stereo, cold A/C, torquey H23, has the original window sticker, original buyers order, all the Pre-Delivery documents, almost every service record and you shake the hands of the original owner - can you really go wrong? Not to mention...nobody has one this nice!!

As long as all the preventative maintenance was done and its never been wrecked mileage is just a number. Would you be willing to pay more for one with lower mileage and more rust?

Very sharp. I am needing a new daily but KBB is saying Fair Market for the car is about 2K. Private Party in excellent condition is 1665.

Bump for you bud! Your aunt has great taste! I think this car is worth every penny of the asking price, if I had the cash I would definitely purchase it!

Exactly nice car yes, but has been ran throughout. Nobody will pay 8950 when they can buy a Newer prelude(lower miles) or salvage S2K. Some guy out here has one with 60k miles for less than what you want GL. The person will have to be drunk who buys this

Re: '92 Prelude Si, One Adult Owner, Stock, Original Window Sticker, Books, Records,
Which number Timmy - you seem a little confused. The one I was asking or your $8950. Or the one with 60k miles that was less than $8950, or was that more than $5850??

Re: '92 Prelude Si, One Adult Owner, Stock, Original Window Sticker, Books, Records,
if you seriously sold this for almost 6k...either you are lying or there is a serious sucker out there...the car is a very nice vehicle, but i agree with a previous post about the KBB value and your logic behind your sales price...either way, your douchy comments about "haters" on here prove your ignorance in the honda world...no one was trying to hate, we are just being honest. glad you "proved" to us your prideful sale by exploiting the lucky buyer...smh (sense the load of sarcasm)

Re: '92 Prelude Si, One Adult Owner, Stock, Original Window Sticker, Books, Records,
You guys are fun.
1. Thanks Honda-Tech for being a great source for the hobby - always.
2. Kbb to my knowledge has never written a check for a car.
3. Neither has NADA - but Timmy (and his insult firing friend) is concerned so here goes...
4. In 2003, I led the sales team that delivered 1440 new Acuras. Any effort I put into a car today is the result of being fortunate enough to learn alot from talented people. I don't do cars for a living any more, but you never forget that thrill of making people really happy - like the guys who picked up brand new Type-R's
Anyone who wants to talk Hondas - beers are on me.
The guy who bought the car loves Honda - always wanted a Prelude - is an ASE mechanic, went through all the receipts and realized it would take $10k to replicate. Again - he loves Hondas like us...

Re: '92 Prelude Si, One Adult Owner, Stock, Original Window Sticker, Books, Records,
ughh...I can't let this go...
NADA - is retarded considering it takes nothing into consideration...
Regardless, I went to KBB and picked your vehicle...ACTUALLY, I selected a 1994 Prelude Si because it will not go past 1994. We are adding 2 more years towards the value in your favor.
I then:
- added your mileage
- selected every possible option (whether your vehicle has it or not) in order to get the highest price possible.
- selected "EXCELLENT CONDITION" to increase the value as much as possible.
Funny - $1530...
Here's what it says:
edit: glad it went to someone who will take care of it. Sounds like you found your proverbial "needle in the haystack"
