Default 1997 Honda Prelude Base 5 Speed

Hey guys, as the title states I'm selling my Prelude. I've had it since March, 2014 and it's been spectacular! I hate to part with it but it's just not what I'm looking for in a car anymore. She currently has 171,8XX miles on the clock. She's not daily driven so it will go up very slowly.

- Clean title in hand
- 0 accidents (CarFax from March available)
- ALL VINs matching on ALL panels
- New tires purchased May, 2014 (Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport)
- Passes GA emissions
- 100% stock, unmolested
- Windows tinted 35% on the sides, 20% rear
- Burns little to no oil, I don't need to top off in between oil changes
- Transmission shifts beautifully, no grinds or pop outs
- Timing belt, water pump, rear main seal replaced at 166k in February, 2014 according to dealer I purchased the car from

Price is $5000 OBO. If you don't like the price, shoot me an offer in my PM and maybe we can work something out. MUST SELL BY END OF THIS MONTH!

Only trade I'm interested in is a 98+ LS400. Need something bigger for the family.

Thanks for looking!

Bump! Updated with higher quality pictures taken a few days ago. Also rotated tires yesterday since it was due (Tires put on car around 169k miles, roughly 3k miles have passed since purchase).

Unfortunately, so am I. When I purchased this car back in March, it was a race against time going to the dealership. There were around 4 guys that came into the office when I was doing the paperwork to drive her home. I guess it was like that because of tax season lol.

First, the car looks very nice, and well cared for. I'm interested in the car, but have a few questions to save us both some time.

That being said it's an early vin of a 1st model year change. I've been through issues with other Honda's being first year cars so I'd like to know what issues the car currently has? I'm not talking about a rock chip on the hood or scrape on bumper (it's a used car)

Any rattles, scraping noises, leaks, pulls? Do all the interior functions work (lights, switches, buttons)?

How are the brakes? Rotors, and pads? (I'd be driving it home to NY) Coolant? Spark plugs, wires/cap/rotor/fuel filter? Are the axles in good shape? Tears/noises? The exhaust system intact/leaks?

Thanks in advance.

Here are some videos of a walkaround and a test drive.

There is a slight rattle/loosening of the headliner right above where my head is when I'm driving. If I put my hand up and push the headliner, it goes away. No scraping noises or any rattles as I'm driving down the road.

As for leaks, I don't seem to be leaking any fluids (if I am, it's probably very minor). Inside the garage where I park is bone dry (besides the oil spots from my previous car).

All interior functions work as they were intended and all bulbs are working as well. The only thing I noticed is that recently, the bulbs went out on the AC, recycle, recirculate, and fan speed selectors.

Brakes seemed to look in fantastic shape last time I took the wheels off. Rotors didn't have any type of damage besides the normal wear, pads had A LOT of material left. No type of vibration when I go to step on the brakes from higher speeds.

Coolant is still a bright green color with no foreign materials inside, looks to have been changed recently before my purchase.

Drive side axle is in good shape, passenger side axle has a slight tear when I went in there last night to clean wheels.

Exhaust system is all original but there isn't a leak or any signs of major deterioration on the mufflers or on the pipes.

I'll have to get back to you on the spark plugs, wires, cap, and fuel filter. I'll look at the vehicle history to look at those (at work).

Thanks! I appreciate the kind words.
