What grease to use on clutch fork pivot?
97 Integra GSR
I have a squeaking/creaking coming from inside the transmission casing. It is that ball pivot point which the release fork pivots on. I'm able to grease this point by using a mirror on a stick and a syringe with a long needle. I replaced the outer ball pivot point (outside the transmission case) with a ball bearing unit, so there's no squeak from there.
Anyway, I can lube the inner pivot point, and it feels fine for a few hours, but then starts to get creaky and friction-y again. I've tried both the Honda Urea grease, and well as Valvoline durablend lithium grease. In both cases, it works for a little while, but then gets squeaky again. The squeaking seems to get worse when the car heats up, so maybe it is thinning out?
I'm probably looking for a grease that stays in place, doesn't thin out under high temperatures, and resists dirt (from all the friction material flying around inside the housing).

Thanks for the replies so far.
I don't know offhand the part number of the Honda Urea grease I used, but it calls itself high temperature grease, and comes in a little tub and is green in color. This grease doesn't work well for long.
What is the difference between the wheel bearing grease, and the Valvoline durablend? That doesn't work well for long either.

I may try a silicone based grease next, like sil glyde. I think they aren't supposed to thin out as much under higher temperatures.
The weird thing was that I never really had this problem until after I got my clutch replaced. I think the guys that did it never cleaned out the joint, or something. Ever since, it can't stay squeak-free for long.

AutoZone hi temp wheel bearing grease, $2 a tub is what I paid.
Sil Glyde IMHO wouldn't hold up. Nice or packing OEM axle seals that don't get lubed, but not for a pressure point like a clutch pivot point.
