Cusco.

Spoon, Kaaz and J's aren't very strong. Plus they dont sell all the individual parts like Cusco do.

I prefer a plate diff like a Cusco by far over a Quaife ATB on the circuit but prefer the ATB diff for rallying.

i like my MFactory alot it takes a 500 whp beating daily and holds up great at the track with 24.5x9x13 inch slicks, i broke my plate diff first day out at the track. just my 2cents.

What made you guys pick one design (helical diff and clutch diff) over the other?

What are the pro and cons (helical diff and clutch diff) of having one over the other?

Which one would work better for this or that kind of motorsport for my honda/acura?

Would a 1 way, 1.5 way, 2 way work better for this or that kind of motorsport for my honda/acura?

Why did you go with the lsd (brand and design) that you did?

Some questions I have cause I'm looking to purchase one in the future also.

I chose a helical over a clutch diff because im useing the car for drag racing and useing slicks. They work better for shock loads and for what im looking to do, also you need to run diffrent fluid depending on what clutch brand you use.

I just installed a new Mfactory Helical diff in my stock b-16 swap. it worked good for about 50 miles, but is giving me big problems now. I think there is something broken inside the diff now, because when you floor it through second gear, and the tires start to hook up good, the diff suddenly transfers all the torque to the right wheel first, then back to the left. the car becomes uncontrollable and takes up 4 lanes of roadway. if I didn't let up on the gas, I would crash. I can't steer the wheel fast enough to keep it straight. I have been over the entire front end; mounts, allignment, CVs, and everything is tight and straight. This only started after a hard pass with severe wheel hop. when it hooked up in the top of second, it threw the car across the centerline and scared the crap out of me and, no doubt, somebody in a car comming the other way. This is with a stock motor but in a very light car (1400 pounds). I am sure the problem is being caused by the Diff shifting torque from side to side under high loads. I wouldn't post this here but the Factory Rep won't answer my emails. Their factory is in China and nobody here seems to have any answers or care. I would go with a Quaife if I were you, and pay the extra for the great reputation they have. Don't know if their support is any better though.

All LSDs that i know of are from japan. so i havent heard of any aftermarket usdm LSDs that really work. what brands are you referring to Our choices are limited for lsd's. Torsen for the alltrac is TORsen brand, so I doubt anyone else would compete with that for the same type. But TRD and cusco are your only options. I remember reading back in the day that some people did not like the trd lsd's. Take that for what its worth.

ramco: We've not received ANY emails from you regarding this. Which email did you send your request to? FYI, our factory is not in China.

We pride ourselves on our 101% support, and most on here would agree with the quality of our Helical LSD (Yes, we also have a great reputation for our Helical LSD's). If you are having a problem, please contact us. All Helical LSD's are covered by our Lifetime Warranty.

wahaneebelly: Aftermarket USDM LSD's that really work (and are proven to work) - MFactory (Helical and Metal Plate) and Wavetrac (Helical/Hybrid). Japan is not the only choice in parts, and TRD don't make LSD's for a Honda

Mfactory, you guys are killing me. First I buy my diff from you guys, and Aquafina wants to know why I didn't get it from him and who (at M factory) sold it to me. So then I am thinking I made a mistake, especially since my payment had to go through your guy's girfriend's paypal account? What kind of business does that? I was told the LSD was being shipped from China direct to me. (so if your factory is not in China, Where is it?) I got the LSD and had some questions that I addressed to you guys, but was referred to Aquafina. (very difficult guy to get helpful info from BTW). after I installed the diff and drove it less than 200 miles in a very light, low power, small wheel car (Mini cooper swap), The car suddenly becomes undrivable at full throttle after experiencing some pretty bad wheel hop on a pass down a local street. the diff is now alternating torque between left to right side wheels and throwing the car two lanes both directions. Scarry!
So, I can't find anything wrong with the car, suspension, alignment, or steering, and now, I try to get some answers from the guy you referred me to last time, thinking that he was the the main contact for Mfactory. Two detailed e mails and 3-4 weeks later, I get no response whatever from him. Finally, thinking I am SOL, I give my opinion, on this board, based on my experience with your company; then Aquafina finally pops up with a couple of lame questions, that could not possibly be related to my problem. I answer him and I get no reply again. So, now You are telling me that you have not received any correspondance from me on the matter. If Aquafina is not the boss, who is? If he is just a rep, then you should at least know, through him, about my efforts to resolve this. If he does not even work for you, please say so, so I don't have to deal with him in the future. From what I can tell, he doesn't have the brains to rep anybody. I am not a dumb kid; I am a mechanical engineer, and have been building and racing cars for 40 years, and currently run my own Swap/frame conversion business. I have never seen a diff do this before, and just want some answers, from your engineers hopefully.

You ordered it from Steve via Phone (our Sales rep in Utah. He was doing a transfer of accounts at the time, so his paypal email was temporarily transferred over to the other account). If you had ordered it directly from us online, then it would have went through our own company account, and not through one of our sales reps.

The LSD was shipped from Hong Kong, not China. Also, place of export does not dictate where the product was made. It just so happens that our company HQ is based in Hong Kong for Financial (#1 freest economy in the world) and Logistical (it is cheaper for me to ship an LSD via Express from HK, than it is to ship via UPS Ground in the US) reasons. As I said, our factory is NOT in China.

Aquafina is not the main contact for us, nor does he work for us; he is one of our Authorized Dealers and Installers. He is not the boss, I am. If you want to figure out what the issue is and have been unsuccessful in doing it yourself, then ship the LSD back to our Utah Facility and we will inspect it. As I said, you are covered by our Lifetime Warranty.

Oh yeah, one other thing I should note. For the Mini conversions, you may need a different tooth profile for the internal gears of the LSD, as it is common knowledge (in the UK) that the standard B-Series profiles are too aggressive for the Mini, and causes excessive wheel spin and/or torque variations.
