Transmission Scraping Noise!! PLEASE HELP!!
I have a 01 ls integra that i recently purchased. The previous owner said his grandson owned the car and acted like an idiot with it. The grandfather had the clutch rebuilt by aamco and bought a used motor from lkq and had it put in by the acura dealership here. I confirmed all of this with receipts. After 2 months of driving the car normally (not taking car above 5k rpm, just driving to and from work, no aggressive driving at all), the transmission is making a scraping noise in first gear and reverse when i let go of the clutch and give it gas. If i push the clutch in the noise stops. It also makes a weird knocking noise in 2-4th gear whenever its at low rpms. Its not difficult to put the car in gear or anything, there's no grinding coming from the tranny, it just makes this weird scraping noise in reverse and first and the knocking noise in the other gears at low rpm. Someone please help me figure this one out. Thanks!!

Re: Transmission Scraping Noise!! PLEASE HELP!!
Sounds like an internal transmission bearing issue. You will have more load in 1st gear and reverse vs. when you are up to speed...so that will explain more of a scrape noise in those gears and knocking at lower speeds in the other gears. I am thinking a bad input shaft bearing. This will require an overhaul of the transmission. While you have your transmission open, check everything else for wear and tear, and change all the main bearings and seals...its cheap insurance. Good luck!

Sounds like ISB (input shaft bearing) to me or they did something really wrong.
Most AAMCO guys only deal with Automatics.
