Default reverse not the same after opening case.

Hey guys so I had a pretty big leak coming from the two half's of the transmission LS trans by the way. I open it up reseal it and what not put it back in the car and reverse doesn't go in how it used too. Let's say that before the shift lever would drop in to gear 2 inches and now it only goes in half an inch.

All other gears are the same and it doesn't grind in reverse. is this something I should be worried about?

Don't be shy. Sometimes it needs some force.

That's the thing man I tried slamming it in reverse and it won't go any further. it does go in to gear I just find it odd that it's like that now.

Is the linkage binding? Banging off anything? Shifter bushings? Bitch pin in tight?

Did you line up the 5th/Rev stopper plate before you put everything back together?

O man I didn't know I was supposed to do that. It was my first time opening a transmission looks like I'll have to open it again to check that.
