Problem with Y1 LSD Cable Tranny
My YS1 tranny started the typical 3rd gear grind recently so I used that as an excuse to get my hands on a Y1 LSD Cable Tranny for my JDM B16A CRX and put it in on Saturday along with an Exedy Stage 2 clutch and 9.5lb flywheel.
Of course as luck has it 3rd gear grinds on the new transmission also but even more annoying is that the damn thing is a nightmare to get into 1st gear, beyond notchy, it continually gets jammed. The only way to get it in first is to try once, then let off the clutch, and try again, usually goes in the 2nd time. I'm also having trouble downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, same problem but cant get it in 2nd for the life of me. I also noticed when I get the car in 1st or 2nd gear I can move the shift lever to the right ALOT but it stays in gear. I'm guessing it's a bent shift forks?
I know it's a stretch but I'm using Honda MTF, would it be worth a shot to try some Synchromesh? Maybe the cable needs better adjustment?
I really dont wanna risk putting in another used tranny so if i need to get it repaired what do you think i'm looking at for parts and how do i get them since this is a jdm trans never offered in the us? Aftermarket? What do you recommend? Any recommendations on a shop or person on here that could help me with the labor?
Thanks for your help!

Re: Problem with Y1 LSD Cable Tranny
I just rebuild my tranny and i had the getting stuck problem in first. Than i remembered i bent my shift linkage when i swapped engines.. But change the shift linkage. As for the grind all i can say is get use to it. There are people who can rebuild it for you just look around.
