need help is this the tranmission problem?
hey everyone, i need help finding out what might be this cause. I be hearing noises coming from my transmission but then once i step down on the clutch it goes away. and when i let go to idle in neutral the noise comes back. could it be the throw-off bearing? pilot bearing? tranmission itself? or maybe the pressure plate could be the cause? i have already changed the clutch disk but not the pressure plate. it's like a shattering noise.

I am actually having the same problem and was about to start a thread about it. When I'm sitting still and press the clutch in there is no noise, but when I let the clutch out it tends to make a kind of a bad noise, but not all the time. It sounds like something is possibly vibrating. I was thinking that it may be the throw out bearing. My car has 170,000 miles on it, so the bearing may be vibrating or just plane bad.
