Default Motorcraft full synthetic manual transmission fluid okay for Civic?

I have an '89 Civic & wanted to use Motorcraft full synthetic manual transmission fluid (XT-M5-QS).

The guy at the Honda dealership said that 5w-30 was fine, but I was going to try something better.

Thanks

5-30, mtf, rtf and oem would be the only things i would use.
