Default K series clutch side counter shaft bearing

Just found out the difference. 40mm ID for 4.39 and 35mm for 4.76....

Problem is my puller and the one I borrowed from 20 year Honda Tech, won't open big enough to get the 40mm bearing out.

Anyone here have any pics or tool info on what they used to pull this bearing?

K series doesn't fit the budget in my area. A picture of the bearing in question would help.

I got the bearing out, it fell out, literally!

4.39 FD uses a 68mm x 40mm bearing, 4.76 FD uses 68mm x 35mm bearing, I'm having to swap the bearing.

I had an old pilot bearing puller that I used for larger internal bearings. It had three jaws instead of two and cleared the lube guide easily on a lot of transmissions. It is also more of a pain to use as it has an adjustment cam screw at the base to adjust the spread. It does not fit small holes very well. It doesn't use a forcing screw, uses a slide hammer with 5/8" 20TPI threads. I think fuller is who made it, I'll see if I have any pics. I used it to remove a lot of bushings on automatics.

I turn the clutch housing over and i put heat to the case. This way the casing expand and the bearing fell of by itself with no problem.

I'll have to look to see what puller I have but it works on both bearings. Every so often, a roller will pop out though so you need to make sure you catch two rollers per puller tooth to get them safely.

30-40% of the transmissions I do are K-series and some of those bearings fall out without any effort, some you can tap on the back with a rubber mallet to get them out, some need heat with the rubber mallet, and some fight the puller something fierce. LOL Never consistency with them.

Hopefully it is a cheap tool

I know the Snap-On kit I want...Rob at TPR has one. Mounts on the wall with it's own box and a place for each piece, willing to bet $4 for the whole kit!!!

EDIT.....I was close!!!!

Set, Puller, Master Interchangeable (With tool control board/wall cabinet)
Stock#: CJ2000SB $4,237.30

Sticker shock.....if people only knew what tools cost they would understand the $80-100 an hour labor rates.

I hate doing anything associated with a K counter.

I have done two, so it has been a learning curve. The first one I got the shifter assembly, one part backwards, couldn't get the assembly back OUT...that was fun....NOT!

Other than the weight of the gear stacks, I find the K trans is easier.
