New trans seems hard to turn
Got a transmission built with new isb and diff bearings, as well as a m factory 4.5 final drive and 1st gear and used quaife. Before i install it, i tried to spin it, and in gear it seems a little tougher to turn then the normal used transmissions i have spun before. Is this due to new bearings and a clean inside with no fluid?
Thanks in advance

Re: New trans seems hard to turn
Just got off the phone with Derek to explain it. For others reading, its due to all the internals being cleaned and only some surfaces being lubed (gear ID's, spacer collars, gear cones). When a trans is properly cleaned and built sometimes it takes putting a clutch on the mainshaft to be able to spin it by hand.

Re: New trans seems hard to turn
agreed. I notice the countershaft feels like the gears are hard to spin at first and always try and lube them up well before putting everything together.
