GSR- hard to shift/stuck in gear grinds 1-2 shift.

Default GSR- hard to shift/stuck in gear grinds 1-2 shift.

Alright

Recently rebuilt my GSR trans when I trashed 4th gear.

I got everything back together and put it back in the car. It ran pretty good for about 20 minutes and then it feels like it's stuck in gear when I'm trying to shift to other gears. Won't go in any gear. When I let out the clutch in neutral it slows the car down like its still in one of the gears slightly. And if I shift from 1st to second it will grind unless I double clutch it with a LONG pause in between the shifts.

I replaced 3-5th on both shafts with hydro LS gear sets. Those seem to all match up tooth count and markings. I kept the GSR shafts and GSR diff/ring gear so the final drive set is GSR. And I replaced the washers and bolts in my OBX LSD.

I'm gonna tear it apart again and check for things that I may have missed. But we went through everything with a fine tooth comb and couldn't find anything.


One thing I read was that bench shifting it can cause the syncros to bind and stick. Is there a way to know if that is whats causing it or not??

The only other thing i can think of is having a twin disc on a stock clutch line is starting to push the limits of the rubber hose. So I'm gonna replace that line with an all braided line first and see what that does, if anything to the issue.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. This will be the 4th time I've pulled this trans in the last couple weeks. I'm getting good at it, but very annoyed with the whole process!!!!

Bench shifting will not cause the synchros to stick. It will however show if one is stuck or if something is not assembled correctly. You should be able to turn the mainshaft smoothly by hand while shifting through all of the gears on the bench.

bench shifting was pretty smooth and the shafts worked well before we assembled it. Then once it was installed, and after it ran for a little bit. Then all the sudden it started feeling like it was locking me out of every gear and felt like it was staying in a gear even in neutral.

I guess I'll start with that braided clutch line and go from there.
