turbo d16 bracket racing car tranny?
hello
i have been racing my car for 1 month now and i keep loosing by .020 or less do you guys know if i was to put a auto in it would i beable to make it hold up to 250+whp or not and do you think it would make me more competitive?

short answer: no, our auto transmissions suck from what I hear. They wont be able to hold the power that you would need without sticking thousands of dollars into it.
longer answer: depends on what racing you would be doing? I'm guessing you mean drag racing. If so, autos can be beneficial to a certain point. even though their shift time is faster, you have to remember that automatics run of an inefficient torque converter which will lose some of the power in the fluid. Also, automatics do not have the benefit of launcing all so well, although this could be looked at a benefit in a FWD car lol

yeah i have made my mind up i love runing the civic and i had plans to make 400-500whp but now how i am getting in to it i think my best bet is to make a whole new bracket racing car. v8 around 500hp with a powerglide. i think this will make me very competitive.
i am the only 4 cylinder/manual vs all v8 autos so if i cant beat them might as well join them but my heart will always be with honda but its time to step up my game.
