Hi so a couple months ago my friends clutch went out in his stock civic hatch. He then bought the clutch and then him and his friend put it in. Needless to say i dont think they knew very much about the whole process. Took them forever and no torque specs were used. Anyway once it was all said and done they fired it up and drove maybe 5 miles no problem before the car started getting harder to shift.
After a few minutes the car was unable to shift. My friend then had it towed to a mechanic. idk how qualified the mechanic was but he threw a master cylinder in it and bled it. Worked fine for about half a day. It then started to act up again and once more he couldn't shift. He then towed to his house where it sat until for about a week. His dad told him he had a friend that could fix it. This random guy came over and threw a slave cylinder in it. This did not fix the problem and the guy gave up. So it sat for awhile. He then asked me to help. I am not to familiar with transmissions but i thought i would give it a shot.
First thing i noticed is the slave cylinder was not engaging when the clutch pedal was pressed. So i assumed maybe there was air in the system. The Clutch pedal was really soft when pressed. So me and my friend tried to bleed it only some fluid would come out every couple of tries and all the other just air would come out. After about 30 minutes of trying the pedal still would not get stiff and the slave cylinder would not move. The fluid in the resavoir stays at the same height and i do not see any leaks. So i was just seeing if anyone had any ideas?
