4.9 Fd + CM 7lb flywheel/stage 4 clutch = Streetable?
There's a tranny that I'm looking at. It has an ATS 4.9 FD mated with CM 7lb flywheel and stage 4 clutch. It would go into an Integra that is not a DD - just weeknds, nice days, and maybe auto-x (have never tried, but am looking into it). I'm not very well versed on FD's, so any opinions or thoughts??

Would be very streetable. Only question is will the FD last? I had a trans in last month with a broken ATS 4.9. 238whp all motor on street tires, road race, not drag. Bone has had at least one broken ATS D series FD in one of his customers trannys.

For your application, it would be perfectly suitable. As for whether it is a good idea or not, it depends what power you are putting down. If it is relatively stock power, then you will be fine

Depends on how much more. Anything up to around 200whp "should" be ok, but don't hold me to that. We get customers in with broken ATS gears even on stock power, but that has more to do with install or driver error than anything
It's not that they are bad. The ATS gears are very high quality. It's just that they are not designed for high power. If you are going to be keeping to relatively stock and know how to pamper your tranny, the ATS 4.9 is perfect for what you want to do

I've seen stock Final Drives chip off like that on B series with mild driving and sub 200 whp...sometimes things just happen. Cheap materiel doesn't help, though
