Default worse tranny noise ever

got a problem with my B series EE crx here (using a later spec b16a2 + hydro box and converted the pedals to hydro instead of the cable)

had loads of B series cars and never had symptoms like this :

under load (pulling off, putting foot down or going up a hill) im getting a grinding noise up until about 4000rpm (i can feel this through the pedal/floor pan lightly , i am on solid engine mounts) you can hear it quite easily. on a steady cruise at say 60mph there is no noise or vibration/grinding/binding noise. but at 60-70 o have the most god awfull steering wheel wobble (have had tracking done again balanced and spigot rings fitted and its still here everything on the car bush wise is brand new)

the car in first gear also sounds like it does in reverse on a straight cut gear lol (assuming this is a bad input shaft bearing?) its also hella noisy in reverse

i had shaft binding issues when i first built it as i am using the later hydro shafts (these are about 10-12mm longer than the cable B series shafts) so i made hybrid ones using the later inner cv joints to fit the hydro box and the cable shaft and cv (as far as i can tell all the cv joints are good, no play in the outers, on the inners there are no knocks and i can wiggle the inner cv cup a fair amount has about 1cm play up and down)

guessing its going to have to be a box off job to inspect and replace bits right? wheel bearings seem very quiet and no grinding/noise from them.

ideas guys or has anyone else had a similar or the same problem?

I would check the inner axle joints to see if there is any movement at the differential. If there is..that would indicate an axle that is either sized improperly, damaged or it may have a bad differential bearing. Typically a high speed wobble can be suspension, tire/wheel or axle related. I had a wobble as mentioned and it was remedied with an axle. I would check the easiest things first and go from there.

With the noises in various gears it may point more towards internal damage inside the transmission.
