Default Will installing a walbro fuel pump increase my fuel pressure?

simple question...

info: walbro 190 into eg civic w/ b20vtec

what determines the fuel pressure? the stock regulator right? so if I allow more fuel to flow in, should that increase the static Fuel pressure?

Nope, the presure regulator is still going to be able to keep the presure steady. If you wnat to raise your fuel presure, you'll need a different regulator.

thanks, just the answer I was looking for.

so then whats the benefit of an aftermarket fuel pump?

More fuel volume if it is needed. Like with a turbo.

Not if your putting down alot of horsepower.

Volume flowed and Pressure are too different things. (Did I get my terminology right?)

SO I guess a certain pressure could supporty up to XX amount of flow.

Pressure & flow rate are 2 different things, but they are related to each other. They're related by the characteristics of the pump. When the pump is working against a larger back pressure the flow rate will be lower. A proper spec for ANY pump is flow rate AT some pressure. Better yet, a head-flow curve that shows what the flow rate is at any pressure...

A turbo needs higher pressure when under boost. The FPR 'wants' to raise the fuel pressure along with the manifold pressure. Any engine (NA or turbo) needs more fuel as it makes more & more power. Somewhere the stock pump runs out of capacity.

so an all motor engine with about 210-215 hp will need an aftermarket fuel fump maybe? how big of a fuel pump?

I'd guess you don't need to change the pump, but I'm not sure. Since you don't boost, you don't need extra pressure over stock. The flow rate of the stock pump is pretty large, since most gas flows back to the tank. The best way to tell is have a fuel pressure gauge - watch it during WOT. If you're still using the stock injectors, & their duty cycle isn't bumping against 100%, you're probably OK.

General question for all you others...
Does anyone make a fuel pressure DIFFERENTIAL pressure gauge? I'm talking about a pressure gauge with 2 connections. One goes to the fuel rail, one goes to the intake manifold. The gauge measures the difference between the two. It should read a constant diff.Pressure while the actual manifold pressure & fuel pressure go up & down together.
