Why does my tach twitch?

Why does my tach twitch?
I've got a 92 si. Why is it that my tach jumps around, about 500 rpms each direction? The engine itself is uneffected; it is only the gauge that is acting screwy.
How can I fix it?

I would like to know this as well. I have a 1990 crx si. Mine twitches way more usually when i go above 3k rpm. The engine isn't affected
just kidding...I would like to know also..cousins car does it..as well

I think it might be my connection at my vtec controller. The tach on there looks fine and doesn't twitch at all.
