Default tiny metal shavings in oil

ok i have an 92 civic si i got a jdm h22a from steve at hmotorsonline. so i finished it a month ago fired it up everything is ok runs hard, so it hits about 1500 miles and i decide to change the oil. so i drain the oil and im looking in it for metal, none so far so i pour it into the container im gonna dispose it in and im looking at the bottom of tha pan and there are a few peices of metal, now there wasnt a lot but there was some. i was running castrol gtx and now changed to castrol synthetic blend because i was gonna make a change over to full synthetic

*also i put it in a clear container shook it up and held it to the light and couldnt see anything if that helps

1. should there be any shavings at all????

2. should i be concerned because there was hardly any metal shavings or am i looking at a problem?????

3.should i wait til after this change and see if there still there?????

If you're afraid about metal shavings in your oil try getting a used oil analysis (UOA)

if it does not come back I would not worry about it. It is normal for engines to have a small amount of shaving when breaking in. That is why they make mag oil plugs.

what color are the shavings?if they are bronze/copper color, its bearings
It is normal to find some shaving on an engine thats breaking in, but not on a used one..
just wait untill next oil change and see....

did you have and work done on it?
I know if anything is milled or ported a metalwork engineer should use the correct size scraper to literally cut away the sharp semi-loose shavings from the edge of the part

...that you know of. You didn't buy a brand new engine, you bought a used one from somebody overseas.

I am assuming its not rebuilt so there should be no menat shavings, when I first did my turbo install I took off the oil pan to have a bung welded into it. When I was cleaning it I found metal shavings on the bottom of it. So I cleaned it and went along with the turbo install. 35,000 miles later and many 10-12psi passes at the track, I tool off the oil pan again to use on my new motor and I was shocked to find thin metal shavings again on the bottom of the oil pan. I am getting ready to drop in the new motor, and when I do this I will tear my old motor down and tell you what caused mine. I have a fealing it's either main or rod bearings. My motor has 105,000 miles on it and has been abused since day one.
