Strange Sound/Blinking Red Light
Hello Honda Tech.
New Poster here. I recently installed an AfterMarket Tachometer, with a lot of help from this Forum. I plugged my Red (Power) Wire into an Option Socket on my Fuse Panel that I had tested. When I tested it, it showed that the Engine had to be ON for any power to come to that Socket. I Spliced my White Wire into another White Wire running into my cars Computer. I had unplugged that wire from the Option Socket and tested to see that it received power when my lights were on.
My Tachometer works, but when I start my car it sounds different. It feels like it is doing a few more revolutions before it actually Turns Over. Everything in the car works. All the buttons/lights. It doesn't randomly died or failed to turn over. It just sounds differently. My dad mentioned something about the Alternator not being good enough to support an added accessory. Just wanted a more professional opinion.
Also there is a Red Light on the left side of my Steering Wheel behind the Blinker/Light Control "thing" I recently noticed that it is blinking much faster than it usually did. I'm pretty sure that it is part of my cars Alarm System. I know it used to blink, but I just have noticed more rapid blinking. (Blinks about once every two seconds.) It used to blink one ever 5 seconds. All of this happened after I installed this Tachometer. The thing works, it hasn't had any problems or anything. I would just like to know if I did something wrong with installing it. (Green Wire spliced into the Blue Wire in my Engine Bay.)
Car: 1999 Honda Civic Value Package 134k Miles. (Used to be driven 2-3 Hours a day 5 Days a week.)

Would also like to say, It's my first car, the Tachometer is not one of those Giant Ricer crap Tachometers, it's a Sunpro 2" Mini Tach. More to help me know exactly what my car is doing.
