Seat Belt Retractor / SRS Light
2006 Accord Coupe (4cyl)
I purchased the car with minor collision damage (no air bags deployed) and have repaired everything but these two items.
<(<(<(FYI: Honda will not warranty the retractor, because the car was involved in a collision.)>)>)>
This is a controlled part (must provide VIN #), so I plan on purchasing a used retractor assembly.
*Because I can't locate the color I need (charcoal), I'll have to swap my belt over. So...
1. Anyone know how to swap the seat belt over without discharging the pre-tensioner?
2. Anyone know how to reset the SRS light and/or crash data?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Seat Belt Retractor / SRS Light
Not sure I understand what you mean by, "without discharging the pre-tensioner" swapping seat belts out is as simple as unbolting them and bolting in the "new" ones.
If a reboot, [disconnecting batt. neg.(-) for 15min.] does not get rid of SRS light, you will need to scan, [OBD2 scanner] the SRS system to see why the light is on, the codes can be cleared and system reset.
Make sure the SRS sensor(s) are plugged in properly, there are two(4) of them behind front bumper on the left and right sides, and in the left and right C pillars, also make sure the connections are clean, [free of corrosion].
Make sure both the pass. side airbag turn off switch and the under seat seatbelt switches are properly plugged in.
Make sure the OPD unit and sensors are properly plugged in, in front pass. seat back.
Check the fuses, 10, 21 and 22, [hot in run and start] in under dash fuse box.
Make sure the airbags are plugged in properly.
I would start with a scan. 94
