Default seafoam on high mileage d16y8...good/bad idea?

166k miles on my stock d16y8 and still runnin strong. only problem is mt mpg is a tiny bit low and idle is 4-500 average. did fuel injector cleaner and that did nothing to idle so i wanna try seafoam before a tune-up.

now what im wondering is will seafoam screw up my engine if i use 1/3 in the brake boost line. thats all i wanna do. my friend said he blew his h22a1 with seafoam after 1/3 in the brake boost line. what im thinking is he had other problems before seafoam and blamed it on seafoam had it might been the last thing he did to the motor before it finally blew.

i searched too and read that since there might be so much carbon built-up, removing it might actually cause leaking and lower compression? this true?

just hesitant whether or not i wanna risk my motor since I have $50 and need a car for the rest of summer.

Do not use the brake booster line that is why he blew his motor. That is like using a garden hose, He might as well of removed the sparkplugs and poured it in.
Use a small vacuum line like the one to the dashpot. Only use 5oz. at a time too. That is all you need.

This might help the idle, might not. You might need to clean the idle air control valve, or the throttlebody with carb cleaner.

I use seafoam for removing carbon deposits which raise Nox. (Oxides of nitrogen)
to help pass smogtests
