Rev limiter issue? need some help
Hey guys, I have a 1995 civic ex, converted it from auto to manual. Car will run great with the sodered auto ecu, but has a bad idle surge because of the ecu. So I picked up 2 different manual p28 ecu's. They fixed the idle surge, but now the car won't rev past 3500 rpm with one ecu and 4100 rpm with the other? I don't know what to do.. please help, any input would be much appreciated!

Really? Jump the blue service port in the passenger kick panel and count the flashes with key on. Long flash is 10, short flash is one. So if it does two long flashes and three quick flashes that would mean code 23, as an example.
is the CEL on at all? Have u tried reburning the chip? Is the chip installed correctly with the half moon cutout facing the side of ecu with plugs?

The cel is on, and as far as I know the ecu's are still oe. The car still has the auto interior harness in it. Could cause any issues. Sorry if I sound ignorant, this is my first attempt at swapping a car. And thanks for the info on how to check the code.

if a check engine light is on you must pull the code, and then fix the problem. some of the codes WILL limit you to 3500ish rpm to keep you from blowing the engine up, basically so you can drive it to a dealer and get it fixed.
