Rebuilt Head: Oil Orifice Confusion

Rebuilt Head: Oil Orifice Confusion
Hello fellow members of Honda-Tech.
This post is in regards to the Oil Control Orifice and O-ring.
My car has been over heating, due to a bad thermostat. I decided to recondition my head and replace all my gaskets while i was in there. I was about to put it all back together, when i checked my OIL CONTROL ORIFICE which had free play and the O-RING was missing. This part and o-ring are new to me. I searched for information, but come up short on anything defiant.
I placed a new O-RING (10.8X2.4) on there, but now the OIL CONTROL ORIFICE is not flush with the deck. It's sitting about 4-6mm higher.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Also it's a 1993 Integra LS with the B18a (pr4)
Will it compress when I install the head or will it leave a high spot??

Re: Rebuilt Head: Oil Orifice Confusion
what size is the corresponding hole in the cylinder head? big enough to clear? did you put some oil on the o-ring before install (to help it slip in easily and seal up)?
you could do a dry fit without a head gasket to check for binding or interference. it may even seat the oil control orifice fully. if there's room in the head it may not matter that it sits up a little.

The hole is slightly smaller. So to my knowledge the oil control orifice fits flush up against the surface of the head. I know the head gasket will add an extract couple millimeter's and that the O-ring will compress a little.
It is just this is the first time dealing with it, so i'm unfamiliar how it should be. Seeing if anyone has had any experience with it.

Re: Rebuilt Head: Oil Orifice Confusion
Hondamark35, Thank you for you assistance. I finally found what i was looking for after sifting through this one thread.
After removing the head the Orifice is about flush with the deck, but when a new O-ring is place on there the orifice will be about 2mm higher until compress by the cylinder head during reassembly. So it wasn't really specific with measurements, but in general answered my question.
