Head bolt theads in block

Default Head bolt theads in block

whats up , so a few questions, i took a engine building class, and i built a ls bottem end up as being taught how to build a engine, while doin so ran a tap down the head bolt threads (in block) to clean out glassbead but i f**ked up and ran a 12mm 1.5 tap down when its suposed to be an 11mm, so machine shop incested it would be fine to ran that same tap down all holes and just get custome headstuds, i kinda questioned it as not being strong enough but i figures they do these all the time so... i did, since i have changed building this engine i have changed minds and wanna boost, then i thought will the studs hold with boost? anyone ever run into this? i dont wanna get a new block have to much money into this one, ive heard of timeserts? i havnt run this engine yet

Lotta high boost applications use studs instead of bolts. Not sure how well it would work for a Honda. You may wanna ask in the turbo forum.(There is a turbo forum here, isnt there??)

ARP headstuds is what most people run on n/a or boosted setups

ya i no i was planning on using studs just wanted to no if u guys think the threads in the block would hold up with any boost, just ran a 12mm x 1.5 tap through them

Drill em out for 1/2" arp studs and done
