Low Oil/engine smoke? need advice
so i get my car back from getting a new clutch and my car is 2 quarts low on oil, when i checked it a day or two after getting my car back, after 2 quarts your dipstick shows nothing... so i i dont how long it was like that but a few times my engine bogged down and kept going but it felt a little weak.... my engine temp stayed fine but im curious what kind of damage this may have done.
Also, before i found out about the dipstick i added to quarts and was over, i warmed up the car and blueish white smoke came out of the exuast when i revved and a tiny bit at idle. Drained and changed the oil, engine feels buff again and no smoke, slight smell of oil when im high up in the rpms... ive been on redline and noticed a little burn but this oil change was Mobil1 synthetic and i did spill a little on the valve cover and header.
Any help much appreciated.

Re: Low Oil/engine smoke? need advice (SantaCruz92Si)
As for driving your car two quarts low on oil, I say that you could have damaged your rings. But if your car is not knocking like a Jehova on Saturday morning, then youre fine. Just let this be a lesson learned to check your oil more often.
As far as having blueish-white smoke, that sounds like you were getting a little oil in the cumbustion chamber. Since it has stopped, I wouldnt worry about it, but keep it in mind next time youre laying on the rev limiter.
Hope this helps

M1 Synthetic is a very thin oil, 5w-30 M1 shears down to damn near a 20 weight... I suggest you switch to a thick 30wt synthetic like 0w-30 Castrol Syntec (Says Made in Germany on back)
