loud exhaust...quieter cars feel faster......
i am currently running a generic cheap-o muffler on my civic, and its pretty loud and deep sounding even at low rpm....... after driving other cars ive noticed i like a quiet exhaust better in alot of ways, hearing the engine is better than hearing a can muffler....does anyone agree with me that a queit clean sounding car "feels" faster than the same car but with a loud muffler......either way im ditching the muffler and going to stock for now....just wanna see your guys opinions on this.

I used to have loud exhaust too! i hated it!!!
I know have 2.25 pipe, a glasspack as a res, and a universal turbo muffler. It is so quiet and flows well.
Less attention from police

i used to have the loudest, nastiest sounding accord around. DC header, gutted cat, 2.25" pipe into a generic muffler. i kicked myself in the *** until i saved up for the DC catback. my 98 gsr was kept quiet, and now im gonna get the A'PEXi WS on my new ride. loud exhaust noise

It's not one being faster then the other, it's just from the torque band getting moved around to a different rpm range. Due to how free flowing the exhaust is...

what exhaust can u purchase that will remain quiet with a header...stock, itr, ? help me here cause i dont want nothing loud either a lil buzz will be fine but nothing sounding a harley or 250 cc dirtbike...thankz

I remember back in '96 when I had my probe GT. I had on a dual canister tsudo exhaust, that **** was loud as hell. My friend who lived on my route to school, said he would hear me driving down the street every morning while he was in the shower getting ready. Not to mention the car alars you set off on those quiet nights. Never again

what exhaust can u purchase that will remain quiet with a header...stock, itr, ? help me here cause i dont want nothing loud either a lil buzz will be fine but nothing sounding a harley or 250 cc dirtbike...thankz
get the A'PEXi World Sport. thats what im gonna get. its cheap (around 375), and its just a little louder than an itr. very nice.

noise does NOT equal HP
you need a certain amount of back pressure
IT is not how loud the car sounds it is how efficient the "exhaust system" is in letting the gas flow out of the engine...

I'm sick of the loud cheap muffler I have too...so sick of it I am thinking about just having a stock muffler installed....
