Default Kaaz vs. Quaife differential

I use my ITR for road racing events (track days, driving schools). I get the impression the stock limited slip differential (LSD) is not that good. The Honda performance people here seem to like Kaaz (they claim the Realtime Acuras use it). Any feelings for using Kaaz or Quaife? Also what is a good torque transfer percentage for road racing (the Kaaz is adjustable). Apparently the stock LSD is 30%. The locals claim Realtime uses 100%. Seems like you wouldn't want all the torque to go to the outside wheel after lifting the inside one to avoid putting the one gripping wheel outside the traction circle. Thanks for your inputs, its hard to get good road racing setup info.

Thanks, It was extremely informative. Looks like a 1.5 way clutch type (Kaaz) is a good road race/street LSD. Any recommendations on torque transfer settings for the Kaaz, or is it a set it and try it deal?

I have the 1.5 way KAAZ LSD. Absolutely love it!

Yes, you have to change the fluid quite often, but, you don't have to buy the $40/quart KAAZ fluid. There's this stuff I've been using since I got the LSD called Torco Racing Gear oil. Every fluid change costs me about $20. Well worth it though.

I've opened up a broken KAAZ LSD what a huge difference than a geartype LSD. Basically, the clutchtype holds all the pieces internally so you dont detroy your casing and internal gears, wish I could say the same about the gear-typed.

I can also give you the diagram to assemble the clutchpacks to get the percentage lock more suitable for you, any questions call up KAAZ and speak to Ray, 888 522 5229, you want a break in price, mention my name - Greg Samaroo and you'll get a good discount also.
