integra rear mount removal
My friend has a broken rear engine mount. (the one the t bracket bolts to)
what is the EASIEST way to remove and replace it.

I think i will take this moment to indroduce myself. Im ferdinkum, kamin's friend. Ive been a long time reader for ht here, but ive never really gotten involved. I think its safe to say that just about everything kamin has done to his car ive been either watching, helping, DOING, or just chilling. 
Oh well, onto the problem. Like kamin stated, ive got a bad rear motor mount. Ive removed all 3 of the chassis side bolts so the actual rubber mount is free moving. Ive read through just about every piece of information regarding taking that center bolt out, but just cant get it. Ive broken a few different higher quality extensions, sockets, a ratchets in the process. Im really tempted to price out having the dealer do it. I know thats like a sin for somthing this easy, but im just about out of ideas.
If i cant get it to come off this week, im gunna cut out the bad mount and the bolt all together and get new ones. If anyone has any better ideas regarding this feel free to throw them at me.

yea he has been around for most of my mods (just because i wanted his *** to start learning before he got the geezer, diving in head first isnt fun when the waters cold 
)
i still say the swap was the most fun we have had with any car hehe.

Not the best way, but what I have done.
Remove all the bolts to the "T" bracket, remove the two front engine vibration dampners...some people call them front engine mounts (ones that are below the frame rails), Just loosen the driver's side mount and passenger side mount slightly to allow some play (loosen the single bolt running through the mount). The engine should be able to rock back and forth, yet still be supported by the DR & PS mounts. Remove "T" bracket. Remove broken mount.
Reverse order to install.

WE GOT IT,
went to a local 24 hour autozone and got a 17mm impact driver and just used a breaker bar, (before this would break sockets/extensions) we just popped it off with the breaker. thank god we didnt have to drop the engine. (this is KAMiN)

just adding my two cents to this thread to give my advice and/or 2 cents.. this jobs a total bi@ch. i did as others said.. removed the driver and passenger side lower mounts, loosened up the driverside top mount, then climbed underneath it and removed the bolts holding in the t bracket. i come to find out this bracket is nearly impossible to remove even with the motor tilted up (with the jack supporting it. what i did was removed the air intake, removed both heater hoses going to the firewall and disconnected the heater control cable. i had to unplug a few of the connectors from the wire harness as well. You will need lots of extentions and different size sockets.. ( deep sockets and regular ones). there 3 bolts holding in the mount. the bolt on the driverside was the most difficult to remove. I had to use several extentions and i put an impact gun to it to break the bolt (its going to be difficult to torque this bolt) even with all the crap i took out and removed. once the bolts are out you should be able to lift the T bracket up enough to wiggle the mount out. before attempting this, make sure you have a good amount of time on your hands, lots of patience, and a 6 pack.

yes i do.. i did it for people who search like i did.. just because its not a new post, doesn't mean people wont come across it. Prime example, i searched for (integra rear mount removal) and this was one of the first diy threads that popped up.
