Idle air valve control (iacv) issue

Idle air valve control (iacv) issue
So I may have installed the wrong iacv on my 1995 obd1 integra. The iacv I installed was for a 1990-91 integra and my question is how will my gsr motor respond to the iacv?
I need some experiences from my honda tech members. Please and thank you!

as long as the bolt pattern is the same, and the holes line up, and it seals, and it plugs in, you should be fine. especially once the ecu has gone through its learning process.
for an ecu to learn the iacv, just reset the ecu by removing the ecu fuse and the backup fuse for at least a minute. then put the fuses back in. and with a cold engine, start it up and let it idle without ever touching the gas pedal until it has fully warmed up. that's it, good to go.

Right now my motor has a loopy idle and I took it to two mechanics and all testings shows that the motor is healthy.
I've posted my problems awhile back if more info is needed, but right now i'm so lost as what to do.

Re: Idle air valve control (iacv) issue
if everything lined up properly, its probably the same exact part. they're never calibrated for a specific vehicle.
if you're having idle issues, you either have a vacuum leak somewhere, or simply need to adjust the ignition timing and idle screw.

Timing is on the clock, but there was a small vaccum leak and my mechanic said that it was so small of a leak that it has not affect on my idle issue.
So under normal conditions, are small vaccum leaks normal? Like miniscule amounts

Re: Idle air valve control (iacv) issue
I have a iacv from a 99 b20 on my 94 gsr engine. computer controls the movement of the iacv not the iacv itself. sounds like your fitv(fast idle thermo valve) is your problem. Google" fitv cleaning and fix".

I tried taking out the the 3 bolts but it was b**** to take them out, so I just gave up on it

EDIT: your's may be a bit different. I forgot... I am thinking of my '90 model. But you may still be able to open the FITV and get access to the plunger without removing the whole FITV. I can't seem to find the thread where someone showed how...

Theres 3 bolts underneath that you remove then you can remove the fitv after you take off the 2 coolant lines.
then take off the 2 screws holding on the cover and screw the plunger in.
I removed my fitv completely and made a blockoff plate. one less headache to worry about.

They aren't too hard. Dont give up that easy... It should be a short extension and a thin walled 10mm. The extension (or 2) is the trick to getting at them without removing the IM.

it just sucks not having to drive for 2 months cause of a lopey idle and crappy accelerations cause of it.
