I built my first one for about $2500. I priced out my dream build at just over $10k.

It all depends on how much you want to tweak, how detailed you are, and what kind of performance you want at the end.

Hot tanked block, deglazed cylinders (std. bore), micropolish crank - just slapping it together for temp motor till I turbo again

you only need to overbore if there are scratches deep enough to catch a finger nail on on the cylinder walls. if things check out ok you'll only need a hone to clean things up.

no because ive still spent half of what a full k20 setup would have run (i price it out, i could have done a k for 5-6 for the swap itself and another 3 in parts to put it in and other random work.) i spent 5 on my motor, having started from scratch and having to buy every damn bolt lol, thats what killed me but i eally dont care, and will do just fin against stock k20.

plus i didnt want to jump on the k wagon.

I plan on purchasing a fully built ls block 81.5 weisco 11.5.1 pistons eagle rods and all new bearings and pumps with ls/v kit and arp head studs for 1000. I already have a built gsr head. So basically im swapping my stock gsr block with the built ls block. Do i have to do anything other than torque the head down and tune? The machine shop charging like 1600 to rebuild my gsr block so i figured why dont i buy a block thats has been already built.
