honda civic vti gearbox tranny problems
i have just recently had the driveshafts reconditioned. I gave them to the mechanics who installed the driveshafts..
After a few days, i was driving at around 50mph and could hear something pulling from under the car (juddering) when taking left or right bends.
After pulling away in 1st gear from a set of traffic lights, something pulled away from under the car and the vehicle would not move forward when in gear.
The car is at the garage where it was inspected, and straight away we saw the inner cv joint on the driverside, slightly out of the gearbox. After completely removing the Driveshaft, we realised the crown in the gearbox has basically been destroyed. When we move the wheel from the passenger side, the drive side does not move. ALSO there was no oil in the gearbox, but it was topped up initially when the driveshaft were installed.
Is this the mechanics fault..... Why did the driveshaft come out, can the gearbox make the driveshaft come out?
Can anyone help and provide any facts about who is to blame here, as the mechanics now state that the gearbox was faulty before the driveshafts were installed, but i dont believe this, as it was working fine before i gave them the car.
