You get a socket the same size as the retainer... you hit the deep end socket against the retainer.. and the keepers will just pop out. May take a couple of hits then you will see what it takes.

No special tools to remove them.. But you will need one to install them.

I use a snap on Over head cam valve tool. Its universal .. look it up if you need one.
i got mine for 119.00 Its a kit.

A magnetized socket is perfect for keeping up with the keepers.

Haha, same way I used to do it. First time I was taught to do it this way I remember being scared, but it works and you won't have to buy any extra tool.

I also reccomend the euro export tool. I have the one for honda and Mitsubishi . Life would have sucked without them. You just bolt it to the head and take your time removing and installing everything. When putting the keepers back in, instead of using the magnet, use a dab of grease on the flat head end to hold the keepers, so when it is in place you give it a wiggle and it comes off easier than with a magnet.

Okay, what about for Non-Vtec motors, say, a p75 head(LS,GS)?
