Default Fix SRS 10-3 using 2.2ohm resistor

I have a 2002 Honda Stream (7-seat Civic) with the K20A DOHC engine. The SRS light stays on after the ignition-on test sequence. When I short out the blue plug under the dash to return the error codes, the SRS light blinks 10 long, 3 short and then repeats. Looking up the codes, this means that both the driver's airbag and the driver's seatbelt tensioner are failing. (Note - does "Drivers Side" mean the same thing for RHD or LHD cars?)

Following other threads on Honda forums about replacing steering wheels with aftermarket ones without airbags, I have separated the two appropriate connectors (one inside the steering wheel and the other under the drivers seat) and connected a 2.2 ohm resistor across their ECU-side plugs.

Then I did the SRS-reset sequence on the yellow plug in the fusebox. The OFF-ON-OFF pattern happened correctly, but instead of 2 blinks afterwards and going off, there was one blink then it stayed on. The SRS error code remains at 10-3.

I've also tried putting another 2.2ohm resistor in parallel to make the resistance 1.1ohm - makes no difference. Can anyone help? Thanks!
